Dear Pete: The following is a proposal of services to be performed for Beechwood Baptist Church in Mount Olive, Alabama. It is our understanding that your need is a new Educational Building. The building is roughly 13,400 SF +/-. The building is to contain Preschool and Children’s classrooms, Activity Room, bathrooms, stairs, control lobby, a covered drive-thru, and other support rooms and spaces.
See attached power point presentation for scope of work on Phase One building.
In preliminary discussions with Lindsey Carter, of Jefferson County Inspections Department, it is our understanding the building will be classified as Type II-B.
SCOPE OF WORK:
1. Design Development work to include preliminary designs for floor plans, exterior elevations, preliminary Outline Specification, and preliminary interior finish schedules 2. Interior selections of colors, finishes, materials, and patterns 3. Code Review and Coordination with Jefferson County 4. Construction Administration (1 site visit per month during construction) 5. Review of Shop Drawings 6. Outline Specifications 7. Structural Plans to include:

8. Architectural Plans to obtain a building permit to include:
A1.0 Code Review, General Notes, Cover Sheet A2.0 Architectural First Floor and Second Floor Life Safety Plans, scale 1/16” A2.1 Architectural First Floor Plan, scale 1/8” A2.2
Architectural Second Floor Plan, scale 1/8” A2.4 Enlarged Floor Plans, scale 1/4" A3.0 Exterior Elevations, scale 1/8” A4.0 Exterior Wall Sections, scale ½” A5.0 Building Section, scale 1/8” A6.0 Interior Elevations, and millwork details A7.0 Interior Finish Schedules, Door Schedules, Interior Details, ADA details A8.1 First Floor Reflected Ceiling Plan, scale 1/8” A8.2 Second Floor Reflected Ceiling Plan, scale 1/8”
WORK EXCLUDED:
1. Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing Designs – By Design/Build Contractor. 2. Civil Designs – By Design/Build Contractor. 3. Existing as-built measurements. 4. Structural drawings other than foundation design. (If pre-engineered metal building structure is not used, provisions will have to be made for structural drawings for conventional system) 5. Geo-technical Studies By Others.
PROPOSAL:
Black Design Architecture will provide architectural services on the above scope of work for a lump sum fee of $35,000. Should additional services as approved by Beechwood Baptist Church be requested, these services will be billed at the following rate:
Project Architect $110.00 per hour Interior Design: $65.00 per hour Cad Operator: $45.00 per hour
Reimbursable expenses are to be paid at a direct cost by Beechwood Baptist Church and are in addition to the lump sum above. Expenses will be limited to in-house use of paper and travel (44 cents/mile). Invoices will be due within 20 days, with any outstanding balance accruing interest at prevailing rates.
